Dr. Kakha Shengelia is President of Caucasus University and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Association of University Presidents. He served as a President of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) for the years 2017 -2021.

He holds an MA degree from Tbilisi State University, an MBA degree in Management from University of Hartford (Hartford, USA), and a Ph.D. Degree from Georgian Technical University (Tbilisi, Georgia).

Apart from his administrative responsibilities, he teaches courses in Management Concepts and History of Georgia.

Dr. Kakha Shengelia was a Member of Parliament of Georgia, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Education, Science, Sport and Culture and the Committee of Foreign Affairs. He had also been a Vice-Mayor of Tbilisi in Social Affairs.

Dr. Shengelia has been awarded the Presidential Order of Excellence by the President of Georgia and the Ring of Honor by the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria.

He is an Honorable Doctor of Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia; the University of Guadalajara, Mexico and J. F. Oberlin University, Japan. Also, He’s a member of the Board of Directors of the World University Consortium (WUC) and of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO). Member of the Council of Representatives of European Law and Governance School (ELGS). He has been elected as a Fellow at the World Academy of Art & Science in 2018.

Dr. Shengelia is fluent in English, French, Russian, and Turkish.
He is married and has three children.
