Minu Ipe

Dr. Minu Ipe is the Managing Director and Vice Chair of the University Design Institute (UDI) at Arizona State University.  At UDI, Dr. Ipe brings her expertise in organizational design, leadership and culture to partner with higher education leaders to co-design solutions that enable universities to be more relevant, successful and sustainable. She manages UDI’s global portfolio of over 140 universities to advance innovative designs across different levels within these institutions.

As an Advisor to the President at ASU, Dr. Ipe continues to lead large-scale design initiatives that strengthen ASU’s capacity for innovation and long term impact. For four years, she served as ASU’s Knowledge Enterprise Architect, leading transformational change efforts across various levels of the institution. Results include the redesign of multiple interdisciplinary academic units with new strategies, structures, and cultures as well as new tools and methodologies to advance innovation at ASU. She has also designed and led multiple leadership development efforts to identify and support high potential talent across the institution, engaging over 400 faculty and staff leaders.

Dr. Ipe’s track record includes academic program leadership and initiatives at the intersection of business and academia. For seven years, she was the Director of the Working Professionals MBA programs at the W. P. Carey School of Business, responsible for on-campus, online and hybrid delivery models with over 750 students. She is a Clinical Professor in the department of Management and Entrepreneurship at the W.P. Carey School of Business.

Her academic work and consulting efforts includes intra- and inter-agency collaboration, interdisciplinary collaborations within organizations, organizational design and leadership development. In addition to her work at ASU, Dr. Ipe has nearly 20 years of experience designing and delivering executive education programs for local and global organizations.

Dr. Ipe earned a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, an M.A. from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India and a B.A. from Bangalore University, India.  Prior to joining academia, she held roles in SAP consulting and Human Resource Development.
